The amount deposited towards registration and admission for a particular year will neither be refundable nor transferable to any other year. Fresh registration will be required if a child is to be given admission for a subsequent year.
In case, for any reason, a student after taking admission in the school wishes to withdraw only caution money will be refunded. In case, a student seeks withdrawal during any academic year, the caution money will be refunded only at the end of the year. The security money not claimed up to one year, will lapse, and will be forfeited.
The parents will not hold the institution indemnified against all claims arising through illness and accident.
In case of late submission of the term fee, a fine of Rs. 50/- will be charged for the first week and Rs. 100/- thereafter per week.
Students are not allowed to bring any electronic gadget (Mobile Phone, Ipod etc) or wear any kind of costly jewellery (except ear rings for girls). The school will not be held responsible for any loss of the above.
Parents can meet the Principal/ Headmistress on any working day, between 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. only by prior appointment.
The parents are required to attend the P.T.A. on a regular basis and the Class Teacher should be informed about any absenteeism, prior to the meeting. A respectable code of Conduct should be maintained and punctuality observed at such meetings.
The school will not be held responsible for any lapses in the bus services. In case of any discrepancies, parents may meet the bus conductor.
Students are required to seek written permission for leave prior to the commencement of the leave. In case, the leave is taken on medical grounds, an authentic medical certificate has to be produced.
Leave for half day should be avoided, as far as possible for security reasons. In emergency however, written permission must be taken from the Principal/Headmistress and the Class Teacher and the Bus incharge should be informed.
11. You are requested not to send your ward for the weekly test on Wednesday in case of any serious illness.
The child will not be sent back after the test.
He/she will have to attend the full school.
In case of absence in one test, the child will be given 75% of marks gained in the test in which he appears of the same subject.(Classes I - VII only)
In case of loss of Report Card, New Report Card will be issued for a payment of Rs. 50/-
Late Arrival in School
The school gates shall be closed as per the schedule given in School Timings Section.
Students arriving late will not be allowed to enter the school. Necessary disciplinary action will be taken

Continuous and comprehensive evaluation is done by the teachers, Class Teacher’s keep up-to-date records of all students. Quarterly reports reflect the average score. Tests for Classes I to IV are held as per the schedule given in the Almanac

The hard work of students is acknowledged at the end of the Academic Session by giving away prizes in various categories like General Proficiency, Application, Consistency, Good Spoken English, All Round Performance, etc.
A child achieving 90% and above is entitled for a Gold Card.
Silver Card: A child achieving 85% to 89.9% is entitled for a Silver Card.
Report Cards of the Below Average Performers will be retained in the Office. Parents are requested to come and discuss the report with the Principal within a week of the distribution of reports failing which the child will not be allowed to attend school
Promotion is granted on the basis of the whole year’s performance of the pupil. Therefore regularity in attendance and work is of prime importance.

Directives (Recommendations to Parents)
Parents are expected to cooperate with the school authorities in enforcing regularity, punctuality and discipline. They should ensure that their wards prepare their home assignments and take active interest in the school activities. We seek your co-operation to inculcate the habit of conversing in English in our students.
Parents are required to sign their ward's progress report or any other information when so required.
Private tuitions are not encouraged. Our teachers are not allowed to give private tuition to our pupils.
All communication with the school should bear the scholar no., class and section of the students..
Parents, guardians or others are requested not to meet the students or teachers during class hours without the sanction of the school authorities.
Early departure will not be granted except in an emergency. An authorised escort should bring a letter signed by the parents. The parents should make their own arrangements for transport in such cases.
Any change in the address and phone number must be notified to the school office in writing.
All belongings of the students should bear their name, class and scholar number.
An Application from the parents for leave of absence with out a sanction for a fortnight in the mid term or a week after any vacation will lead to "striking off" the name from the rolls.
Parents must ensure that information about their ward's blood group duly tested by a pathologist is in the school infirmary. Children should be encouraged to memorize their parents names, profession, residential address & residential phone number.
Parents are welcome to approach the Principal with their opinions and suggestions with prior appointment.
Parents who do not abide by the rules and regulations of the school as agreed to the time of admission will be requested to withdraw their wards.
Parents should arrange to take their children home within 20 min. after the school is over.
These rules are liable to alteration without prior notice.
Directives (Information to Students)
Students are advised to take up discipline not as an irksome burden but as a joyous pursuit for their own education and betterment. The ultimate object of the school is to inculcate amongst the students the concept of effective ethical discipline. Students must abide by the rules of conduct and discipline of the school & must bear in mind the following:
The students must come to school in prescribed uniform. Neatness in dress, cleanliness and discipline should be encouraged by the parents.
Long nails, nail polish, jewellery and the bringing of expensive articles to school is strictly prohibited.
An application should be addressed to the Principal when a student is not in school uniform.
The students must be regular and punctual in their attendance. Student should obtain prior permission from the principal for attending the classes or coming late to school for specific reasons.
All applications for leave are to be signed by the parents. Application for leave on medical grounds is to be supported by an authentic medical certificate.
The school will not be held responsible for the loss of the belongings of children.
No pupil suffering from any contagious or infectious disease shall be permitted to attend school, till he/she brings a medical certificate of fitness.
Irregular attendance, constant negligence of work, insubordination to teachers, habitual inattentiveness in class, obscenity in word or deed, wilful and repeated breach of the school regulation individually or collectively will lead a pupil to serious punishment or expulsion.
The students should neither damage school property nor make the school premises dirty. Tearing of pages from exercise books or school diary is punishable.
Every student when called upon to attend extra classes or to take part in other activities of the school must compulsorily participate in them.
If a student abstains himself without permission for 10 consecutive working days the name will be struck off the rolls on account of long absence. However the child can be readmitted at the discretion of the school authorities.
Directives (Code of Conduct)
The code of Conduct states that we will respect property and, personal rights, co-operate with and support each other and take responsibility for a safe environment. The teacher's right to teach and a student's right to learn cannot be disturbed by the actions of others. Delhi Public School, Servodaya Nagar, Kanpur is committed to develop positive inter-personal relationships between members of the school community. Bullying and harassment at school, along with other disruptive activities, are unacceptable behaviours and will be dealt with accordingly.
The following practices will lead to strict disciplinary action.
Disfiguring or damaging school property.
Bunking classes and weekly tests.
Sloganeering and signature campaigns.
Bringing a cell phone to school.
Use of violence in any form.
Scribbling or writing anything on the shirts or uniform.
Using abusive languages.
Not wearing the proper school uniform, (winter or summer uniform) during the term, as specified in the School Almanac.
Bringing, wearing, buying, selling or possessing any kind of garment or apparel with slogans written on them.
Damaging, scribbling or tearing pages from library books, Texts or Exercise books.
Bringing sharp and injury causing articles such as knives etc.
Bringing books, CDs etc. not relevant to their course work.
Bullying or using any form of violence against a fellow students.
Smoking, gambling, drinking or using drugs.
Bursting crackers or throwing colour on one another within or near the school premises.
Entering school without uniform even after school hours. Bringing civil clothes to school any point of time unless prior permission has been granted by a teacher.

Directives (Disciplinary Measures)
Any student found breaking school rules will strictly be dealt with the following measures will be adopted to maintain discipline.
Oral warning & counseling.
Issue of Red Cards.
Withdrawal of bus facilities for misbehavior in the school bus (Parents will be responsible for picking them up and dropping them to school)
Expulsion from class and school activities along with issue of Red Card.
However, the Principal retains the right to expel a student outright if the offence is of a very serious nature. The Principal will have the right to withhold the character certificate of any student whose conduct is not in keeping with the rules, laid down by the school.
A student will be issued a yellow card for missing classes, reporting late to class, constantly interrupting the teaching process and indulging in rude and unacceptable behaviour in class, school premises and the school bus. The student will report to the class teacher for the detention during break.
Issue of three Yellow Cards will lead to the issuing of a Blue Card.
Blue card is issued to the students who show no improvement and still indulge in undesirable activities in the school premises and the school bus. Not responding to a Blue Card will lead to the issuing of a Red Card.
The receiving of the Red Card by a student would result in his/her expulsion from the school.
Directives (Expectations from Students)
They should take good care of their health.
They should always be friendly with others in and out of the school.
They should avoid vulgarity in talk and behaviour.
They should accept whatever work is assigned to them as their rightful share. They should face difficulties courageously.
They should always be ready to lend a helping hand to their parents, brothers and sisters at home, to teachers and companions in school, and to any unattended visitors they happen to meet in the school premises.
They should stand up when a teacher or visitor comes to talk to them.
They should never cheat or be unfair in studies and games.
They should never be cruel. They should know that cruelty is the trait of a bully, while kindness is the mark of a gentleman.
They should always be honest and truthful.
They should respect the liberty and rights of others.
They should respect the beauty of the class room and of the school premises and report any damage they may observe.
They should never hesitate to say "NO" when asked or tempted to do a thing which they know is wrong.
